Home Sweet Home!

Yesterday we were released from the hospital and are now home and resting as much as a busy family of four can! We took Baby Coleman to the pediatrician this morning to get checked out and to make sure he was doing well. Dr. Joe gave him a clean bill of health and we will go back when he is 2 weeks old to make sure he is gaining weight like he should.

As for the Labor and Delivery, I could not have asked for a more smooth one. We were joking that it was a good thing I was induced otherwise I might not have made it to the hospital. We were scheduled to be at the hospital Monday morning at 6 and we were only 10 or so minutes late which isn't to bad. By 7 I had gotten my iv, filled out all my paperwork and had my water broke. At that point all I was waiting on was for the pitocin, which was started at about 7:45. At this point I was only about 3 centimeters and the waiting game began. Once the pitocin was started my contractions started to become more regular and at about 8:30 I went ahead and got my epidural at first it was only working on my right side. I let the nurse know and she gave me a boost which was exactly what I needed and I began to relax completely and just wait. At about 10:20 my nurse Teri checked and I was 5 to 6 so I figured we would be a few more hours, little did I know that Coleman had other plans. My nurse left after that and came back about 20 minutes later at which I told her I felt some pressure. I really thought I was just making it up but she checked me and said it was go time. She asked if I was okay with pressure and she would go ahead and get the room set up and call the doctor before I started pushing. So for about 20 minutes I just waited while she prepped the room and called Dr. Stone to come for delivery. It was 11:20 or so and we were still waiting on Dr. Stone and I was trying not to push and it crossed my mind that Teri may have to deliver this guy, it was about that time that Dr Stone walked in. And thank the lord he did, I pushed through 2 contractions and Coleman was born screaming at 11:28 am on Monday December 6th.

I immediately fell in love with this little boy who is the spitting image of his big brother and I can't wait to watch him grow. God has truly blessed our family this year and for that we are so thankful! Now let the fun with 2 boys begin!

Thankful Thoughts!

I know it is the day after Thanksgiving but we have so much to be thankful for this year. Not only do we have one healthy 2 year old but we have another little boy that is going to join our family in a few short days! We have a wonderful family who loves us and support us and are there to help out in any way we may need them. We have a house over our head, food on our table, transportation and clothes to keep us warm. Now more then ever I realize that it is the little things in life that make it so wonderful! I may not get to shop all I want and have all the latest and greatest thing but I have a little boy that I get to come home to every night who loves me more then anything and a husband that is willing do do anything for our family and that in itself means the world to me.

Other things I am also thankful for these days that aren't so sappy are coupons. I can't tell you how much we have saved over the last year just by watching deals and using coupons and we have not had to sacrifice the foods we love. Prilosec and Tylenol, I would have been beyond miserable this entire pregnancy without being able to take either of these two medications. My daily Diet Coke, there are just some days I don't think I can function without it, I am a little worried Coleman may be born addicted to them! My last Dr. appointment on Monday because it means that we are at the end of this pregnancy and are going to finally meet Coleman! And last thing I can come up with right now is my maternity dresses, I am just not comfy in pants and dresses have been my best friend over the last month.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and didn't eat to much!

Tiny Stubborn Baby!

Yesterday, I was suppose to get a sneak peak at baby Coleman and finally get to see his little profile. Well our stubborn baby had other plans and we were unable to get the great profile shot we have of CP at the same time. This little guy has been pretty shy all along and really doesn't want to give us any great glimpses until he makes his way into the world. I did however get to see his little heart and all four chambers, his brain, his functioning kidney's and his little tummy which all looked perfect!

As suspected baby Coleman is going to be little like his brother, yesterday he was measuring a little over 34 weeks (I am 36) and I was told he was about 5lbs. So that means if (a big if) he gains on average of an ounce a day for the next three weeks he will weight about 6lbs8oz at birth, right around the same size as his big brother! Thankfully Dr. Stone wasn't worried at all but quite happy that we confirmed there was a little buddy growing inside of me that I should be able to push out on my own, which is what I pray for daily. It was also confirmed yesterday that my body is doing what it needs to be doing right now and I am starting to dilate on my own (just like Charlie) but both Dr. Stone and I agreed we really don't want baby Coleman coming until the 6th so his little lungs can continue to develop for a few more weeks because little white boys lungs take a little longer to develop then most. I will go back for two more appointments and then it will be "D Day" and I pray that my labor and delivery with baby Coleman go as smooth s they did with Charlie!

36 Weeks and the Name!

It has been quite some times since I gave an offical update on the newest CPW. First of all he finally has a name and his big brother is calling him the correct name. For those that do not know his name is Coleman Price Wood and he will go by Coleman!

We are still set to evict baby Coleman on December 6th and this mommy couldn't be happier. Not that I have had a hard pregnancy but I am at the end and I just hurt all the time now, especially with constant feet in my ribs and one wiggly little guy with very little wiggle room left. Today I will be going to the Doctor to get a weight check ultrasound on this little guy, I suspect he is going to be about the same size as his big brother as I am carrying identical to him and my belly is about the same size. If for some reason they tell me he is going to be a big baby I may have to discuss with Dr. Stone about evicting him sooner but as far as measurements have gone he has been measuring pretty average to this point.

Let the whirlwind of the next three weeks begin. With the Holidays fast approaching and there still being quite a bit of stuff to do at home I suspect that the next three weeks will pass quickly!

Pumpkins!

For the third year now we took Charlie to the Pumpkin Patch in Hayden, AL to pick out his pumpkin for Halloween! This year I think was the most fun for him! He enjoyed the music, searching for his pumpkin, running around in the hay maze and riding a horse named Pepper!

Law Men!

On this beautiful fall day both my boys were out doing a little yard work and enjoying the cooler weather! Charlie has his own Lawn Mower and insisted on helping daddy cut the grass today. It made me so happy to see both my boys outside working on the yard together and it looks like Josh has passed down his love of yard work to his son, here's to hoping baby brother has the same feeling about it!

30 Weeks!

I figured Brother needed a post of his own for his 30 week updated! I can't hardly believe it but we have hit the 30 week mark in this pregnancy and things are going just as smooth as they did with CP. If I had to compare my pregnancy's to this point I would say they are pretty similar, the only slight difference it that I have been more tired this go round but with CP I wasn't working and I didn't have a 2 year old to chase around and I have noticed way more braxton hicks.

Brother is doing just fine according to Dr. Stone, aside from the fact that I don't look 30 weeks pregnant I am measuring right on track with my due date which means brother is growing right. He is moving and shaking all the time now and CP loves to watch his brother dance at night while we are watching TV. I myself have found that his kicks, punches and rolls have gotten increasingly stronger and some days they just out right hurt, but this is one issue I am willing to deal with as long as he is a happy and healthy little boy!

At our first appointment we briefly discussed induction, as most of you know I was induced with Charlie and had a great experience, we are planning the same course of action this go round. Dr. Stone said that he would have to wait until 39 weeks this go round so unless Brother decides to come on his own before then we are looking at 9 weeks left to go until we get to meet this little guy. In one breath it seems so far away and in the next I really can't believe how close that actually is especially with fall and the holidays coming!

Big Boy Bed!

Seeing as it has been almost a month since I last updated I thought it was high time I give everyone a glimpse into our slightly chaotic lives right now. Life with our two year old little boy is quite busy right now and he isn't so much a little boy anymore, which is making me sad that he is getting so big.

A little over a week ago we transitioned from the Crib to the Big Boy Bed! This meant that Charlie would be moving out of his nursery and would be moving down the hall to a new room that is still in progress. It also meant a few sleepless nights for Mommy and Daddy! The first night went well, it was on Sunday and he slept all night and didn't wake up until Josh went to get him the next morning. Night two, well it was a disaster to say the least. He ate late, which meant he went to bed late and he had trouble falling asleep and at about 12:00 I heard the baby gate clanking at the top of the stairs and a child screaming on the monitor. It took me 3 hours to get him back to sleep. Night 3 went much better, CP fell asleep in bed at 7:10 which was 20 minutes before bed time, I guess when you stay up all night you will do that, and we didn't hear from him until we woke him the next morning. Night 4, there was no screaming we just had a little visitor in our room around 1:00 who would not go back to bed until 3. At this point I was not sure how many more sleepless nights this Momma could handle and then night 5 we turned a corner and we didn't have a visitor until 6 night 6 was much the same except he visited us at about 5 but went back to sleep so I was fine with that. We have since but a child lock over his door knob so he can't get out of his room until we come and get him in this morning.

Last night was the big test for both CP and me, I started out laying in bed with him and stayed until he fell asleep and then I moved to the floor and would sit and wait until he would fall asleep before leaving. He has always cried before he goes to sleep and I knew once he figured out he could get out of bed that he would never stay in his bed, he never figured out how to get out of his crib so we always just let him cry for his usually 5 minutes and he would go to sleep. Well last night I sat with him for a few minutes and then told him that I was going to go and would be back "soon" and that he needed to stay in his bed until mommy came back. I knew it might be a stretch for him but I shut the door and walked about. CP wailed for a good 15 minutes before I didn't hear him anymore. I went to check on him before I went to bed expecting that he would be on the floor next to the door asleep but much to my surprise he stayed put in his bed and was fast asleep.

CP is still pumped about his big boy bed and loves his Choo Choo sheets! We still have yet to finish up his big boy room but I have a feeling in the next few weeks it will be coming together and will be all finished up. We need to clean out the closet and get a few pieces of furniture from Chattanooga still and move out a few things and he will be all set!

26 Weeks!

You read that title right, I am 26 weeks pregnant with this little guy and in hopefully less then 14 weeks he will be gracing us with his presence one way or another, either under his own direction or with a little help from modern medicine. He is letting his momma know more and more that he is officially in charge of my body and I no longer have control of how I feel! I am increasingly more tired these days and it doesn't seem to matter how much sleep I get. I guess I better get use to the exhaustion because I am sure it is going to stick around for sometime after he arrives. Not sure if Big Brother still completely understands what is about to happen but he will tell you that "brother" is in my belly if asked and I have a pretty good feeling he is going to ask to have him put back once he arrives and is living in his world!

As for a potty training update, we are still going strong and using the potty consistently and even asking to go now. On the weekends and at night we let CP wear underwear and he has only had one accident to this point, and his pull ups stay dry for the most part all day long. We are headed to the beach tomorrow so I have 4 days with him and I am thinking that I can make some more headway while we are there too in terms of number 2 because that is still a bit of an issue. He usually tells us he needs to go but he is going when he tells us so we need to work on giving us just a little more warning. And that is us in a nutshell right now, bear with me a little longer on the post not being frequent, our computer crashed last week so we are computer less at home right now!

Pull Ups Are Cool!

I would like to say Potty Training is now in full swing at the Wood household. This means that the one time he went in the Potty on Sunday was not just a fluke and that he can in deed do it. On Monday night he went again for his Daddy while I was out, he did refuse to sit on his little potty and would only sit on the big one. I was a little annoyed at first (only because we had bought a little potty) but have since realized this will be so much easier to clean up and he is going to have to get use to the big potty at some time anyway.

Tuesday brought a little more success, he didn't go before he went to school but his teachers told me he went once while at school and he went again when he got home from school and before he went to bed. School requested that if he was going to be using the potty that we bring Pull Ups for him. Last night while at the grocery store we picked up some Toy Story Pull Ups and let me tell you he was more then excited when he put on a new diaper this morning with Buzz and Woody (he has never seen Toy Story he just likes that they look different I think)! This morning he went to the potty once before he went to school and then he went when he got to school. My prayer is that he will go at least once while at school today, twice if we are lucky and then he will go when he gets home. I think baby steps are the key right now and me not stressing too, because knowing me I could let this rule my world but I am trying not to.

Be prepared for more updates as we continue on this new journey with Charlie. If you get sick of reading about his Bathroom habits you may want to skip the posts for a while if they look like they are related to potty training because I am almost certain that the next few posts will be dedicated to this.

Potty Training Chronicles!

So no pictures again but I feel the need to document this because I know that when unnamed Baby Boy Wood make his appearance I may have little time to blog at the beginning. If you have no desire to read about bathroom goings on then I would recommend to not ready any further!

For some time now I have been putting Charlie on the potty before his bath to try to get him use to the idea and to actually see if I could get him to go. Well it seem to never fail that I would put him on the potty, he would say all done and get up after not doing anything, and as soon as I would put him in the tube he would pee. I was getting frustrated because he knew he was doing it, he could even start and stop as if it was a game. Finally last night he got on the potty before getting in the tube and I figured it would be our usual routine, charlie sitting on the potty not doing anything, but much to my surprise when I walked out to put his diaper in his diaper pale in his room I came back in the bathroom and Charlie had gone potty for the first time. I knew immediately because his aim was a little off even sitting and he got a little on the floor, which I could care less, because for the most part it all made it in his potty. He was pretty darn proud of himself, I think his favorite part was when he got to flush it down the toilet. He loved that part so much he wanted to sit on the potty after his bath and flush the toilet again, God love him he tried so hard but couldn't get anything to come out either. My plan going forward is to have him sit on the potty before he gets dressed in the morning and before bath on weekends and school says they let him sit on the potty as well so that is helpful and on the weekends I will add in before and after nap to get him more accustom to going all the time on the potty.

I know this is only one time and we are so far away from being completely potty trained but to me this is a big start because like I said before he has been sitting on the potty since before he turned 2, so a good long time and he never did anything before. Today I am off to get him some Smarties (he loves these things) as treats for every time he has success on the potty. I know there is going to be so much more frustration down the road and we may even have to deal with him reverting back when Baby Brother gets here but for now I will take going pee in the potty before bath time as a start, and I have a feeling that if he is potty trained and does revert when brother gets here it won't be like starting from scratch so I would rather get the ball rolling a good 4 months before his baby brother arrives!

Big Time Slacker!

Since I last posted there has been so much going on in the Wood household I haven't really had enough energy at the end of the day to sit down and post anything. I have several pictures to share but that will have to wait for another blog post (hopefully not a month later) since I don't have the camera with me right now.

First things first, we finally had a chance to get away for a few days over the 4th of July, so we headed down to the Cottage for the long weekend to relax and enjoy some time with Shug and Pops. The beach was completely clear and the water was beautiful. Charlie took right back to the sand and loved it as much if not more then last year. The water was another story, he wasn't quiet sure of it but finally warmed up enough to walk down and put his toes in it and use his bucket to retrieve water, which he promptly dumped on himself and the sand and then asked for more. I wish we could have stayed longer but I will take what I can get, at least we are headed back for the Labor day weekend.

Now on to someone who doesn't get a ton of blog time, my wonderful husband Josh. At the end of June he started a new job and he seems to be enjoying it. He is now in Sales and no longer in rental and leasing it has been different but good and I really think he is enjoying his new position. Also on July 11, Josh turned the big 3-0! I had big plans to throw him a surprise party at the house but somehow I went from having 3 months to plan to it being the week of his birthday, funny how time will do that to you! I did manage to pull together a group of friend to come out and celebrate and surprise him at a local Mexican restaurant, and being the good wife that I am I even got him an Oreo cake even though I really don't' like Oreo cake (that's saying a lot for a pregnant women).

Now on to the last bit of news, that little baby growing in my belly. On July 12 we found out that we were going to be welcoming a little boy into our family in December. We are thrilled that we are having another little boy and I can't wait to see this little guy in December, maybe he will look a little like me! We took Charlie with us when we found out and he though he was watching TV, he seems to already like his little brother but that may be a different story when he is actually here. Everyday before I leave him at school now he gives me a hug and a kiss and then he has to kiss the baby, it is quite cute! Baby Boy doesn't have a name yet but I hope we can come to an agreement soon because I am ready to call him by his name it is driving me crazy, especially since we had Charlie's name picked before we even knew he was a boy. Everything else with this pregnancy seems to be going smooth and I hope the next 18 to 19 weeks remain as uneventful as the first 21 weeks.

In a nut shell that is what we have been up to over the last month. I keep thinking at some point I will have more energy because you are suppose to in the second trimester but it has yet to happen . If and when it does happen I will try to post more picture and videos, I have a ton they just need to make there way onto the computer! Anyway that is all for now and hopefully it won't we another month before I post, but no promises over here.

Catching up!

I have been a major slacker her lately and for the I apologize but when you are growing one baby and trying to raise another it pretty much takes all I have to get my head off the pillow let alone think about blogging. That being said things are going great in the Wood household, baby number is 2 is just growing and we find out in 2 short weeks if this little one is a boy or a girl!

Charlie is still his 2 year old self running around and being crazy just enjoying the carefree life he leads. He really has transitioned from baby stage into big boy and it makes me sad but he still has his moments where he will let me rock and cuddle with him right before he goes to be and I treasure every second of this time with him since I know here soon I will have two little one to learn how to juggle!

Big news for Josh, he started his new job today with Freightliner and we are both so excited for this new opportunity that has been given to us. He is also turning the big 3-0 in 2 weeks so needless to say it will be a big two weeks for him. New Job, we find out what the baby is and he turns 30!

As for me I am just trudging along with this pregnancy. The sickness is gone but now the headaches have set in, it looks like I just trade one for the other. I am still tired but I guess I better get us to being tired all the time because I have a feeling when there are two little ones that need me rest will be hard to come by. So far all reports from the doctor have come back great, I was there on Friday and this baby is competing with his or her brother for fastest heartbeat, at a steady 168 beats per minute s/he is giving Charlie a run for his money. I am hoping to get better at blogging but no promises as July looks to be another busy month!

Sneak Peek!

Last Thursday I finally had some professional pictures of Charlie taken by Heather Swanner. I have been wanting to do them for a long while but it just never seemed to work out so I finally made an appointment back in January to have his pictures taken just after he turned 2! If you would like a sneak peek you can check out her blog at http://www.heatherswannerphotography.com/blog/. I am so thrilled with how they turned out and can't wait to see the rest, the only problem is I might have a very hard time picking the ones I want!

Charlie is 2!

So I know this is a bit delayed but things have been busy and I am so tired at night I can't even think of pulling my thought together enough to post on the blog!

As everyone may know our little guy turned 2 on May 14 and we celebrated this wonderful day with a party on May 15, the theme this year was "Dump Trucks". We had friends and family over to celebrate with cake, snacks and water fun in the back yard! The cake was absolutely amazing and I am so thankful to my mother-in-law for taking care of it for me! My mom of course was in charge of his outfit for the even, well at least most of it, she smocked and insert for a t-shirt with dump trucks on it and I was in charge of making the shorts. Sadly I do not have any pictures of him in his outfit because after getting dressed he promptly fell into the kiddie pool and was drenched so we quickly changed into his bathing suit.

I think the party was a hit Charlie had fun playing with his friends and the adults were able to have great conversation while the kids entertained themselves. Happy Birthday to my Big Boy he is no longer a baby anymore!

Last Thursday he went to see Dr. Joe for his check up and he is growing great and doing all the things a two year old little boy should do. He is weighing in at 27lbs and is 35 1/2 inches tall, this is a far cry from where he was last year, he gained a little over 10 lbs this year! He was more aware of the fact that he was at the doctor this time and was not to happy with it but he will survive. At this appointment we were also able to remove one of the tubes but the second one was a little more stubborn and we had a very unhappy little boy so we decided to just leave it and would check later to see if it was still in there or had fallen out on its own. I still can't believe it has been two years since this little guy came into our lives and changed us forever and we are so very excited to continue to watch him grow and see how he will adjust to his biggest role yet as Big Brother!

Crazy Dancing!

Our little guy loves to Dance and I caught him in action the other night. While we were getting dinner ready he was jamming out to some "Crazy Women". His rhythem isn't the greatest but he really doesn't care and just has a down right great time!

December 12, 2010!

Yesterday Josh and I headed to visit Dr. Stone for our first appointment and our first glimpse at Itty Bitty. Before we even met with Dr. S we had and ultrasound and got to see Itty Bitty, I was so happy to finally be able to see that little flicker on the screen and be reassured that there indeed was a new life growing inside my belly. The U/S tech measured the baby and showed that based on size I was 8 weeks 1 day and that moved my due date to 12/12/10. We then met with Dr. S who was very excited for us, we had the normal first appointment talk about how thing would work from here on out as far as appointments go. We also discussed induction and he said we would most likely do the same thing as last time and the baby would be likely a week early unless of course Itty Bitty has other plans. I go back in 4 weeks and will get to hear that wonderful heartbeat again, which is the best thing in the world.

Josh, Charlie and I are still ecstatic and can't wait to find out who we will be welcoming to our family in December, will it be Pink or Blue? I guess we will have to wait for at least another 10 weeks before we find that out though, either way we will be thrilled!

Loving Outside!

This time of year is so wonderful, Charlie is loving the change of scenery and he is loving all the new toys he gets to play with now that he can run around and enjoy the warmer weather. I am sure here in a few weeks he is going to love it even more when we can pull out the water toys and go to the pool.
He love this Mower!

He is such a big boy!
Hey Mommy!
Loving the little feet!

Charlies is happy to announce....

Baby Wood number two is on the way and will be making an appearance sometime around the First of December. We should know more when we go see Dr. Stone on May 3 and get the first glimpse of Baby Wood. We are all so very excited and can't wait to meet the new addition to our family!

Stinger!

Today while playing in the backyard in Charlie's little house there was an unwelcome visitor who wasn't very nice to our little boy. Who might you ask was the guess? Well it was a wasp and that stinking wasp stung my little guy. I knew the instant it happened to because Charlie let out a blood curdling scream and did not stop crying for quite some time. After a little ice, a paci and some benadryle Charlie was feeling better. Aside from a little swelling he seems to be fine but I can't help but feel bad for the little guy!

The swollen thumb!

This was before the incedent, we were having fun playing the house together!

Wood Lawn Care!

Today while Josh was doing the Yard Charlie and I sat outside and watched him and played. Charlie has a play lawn mower that blows bubbles so while his daddy was working in the yard Charlie helped out his daddy. Maybe one day they will open up a father/son lawn care service!

Crazy Days!

The past few weeks have been pretty crazy with Easter, our 5 year Anniversary and a weekend at the Masters for Josh and I. Now that things have settled down for two seconds I thought it was high time I add some new pictures of our crazy little guy! I wish I has some Easter pictures but because Josh and I left early Easter Morning to head to Augusta, which by the way was amazing, we did not get a chance to take family pictures on Easter.

Over the last week Charlie was on grandparent overload, which he didn't mind at all! On Friday April 2 my parents came in town for Good Friday and to spend some time with us. PePa and RaRa were generous enough to stay overnight so that Josh and I could go out dancing and to Dinner for our 5 year Anniversary, which I still can't believe it has been that long already. PePa and RaRa then spent Saturday with us before they headed home. On Easter Sunday Shug and Pops got her early so Josh and I could head out of town. Shug and Pops kept him for the next 3 days, and I am pretty sure over those three days he was spoiled rotten. He went to the zoo and played outside with bubbles from the morning until late a night. On Tuesday we got back home late and Charlie had to come back to the reality of Mommy and Daddy!

I hope things will calm down for a little bit but I am not sure that is going to happen, we still have a pretty busy April and before we know it, it will be May 14 and our little boy will be 2, I so wish I could make time stand still. I am not quite sure I am ready for him to be 2 he is growing up way to fast! That's all for know, enjoy the pictures!

Long Over Due!

I figured it was due time that I updated, the only problem is there isn't much to update on. Things have been pretty quiet around here which is good so I thought I would at least give you a glimpse of some of the latest Charlie pictures. We also want to wish everyone a happy Spring, I don't know about everyone else but we are glad to say goodbye to the cold days of winter and enjoy a little sunshine!

Hoppy Easter!
So happy right now!
Not so happy right now but I have a cute Easter Outfit on!
How sad is this face!
It was a bad night and he wants to get in the tub!
Happy now that I am in the tub!
Relaxing before bed!
